On my way to work this morning, I drove around to catch the high tide — a sobering experience. Waves overwashing the Harbor breakwater; water cresting up to and maybe over T Wharf, the inner Harbor roily and reaching up to the houses. Thacher Road inching towards inundation in at least 2 places. Safer to take the high road home. DPW out there diligently pushing back, pushing back. Saratoga Creek, whitecapped, forcefully pincering the end of Long Beach, claiming the road as part of its riverbed. No beach at all showing along sea wall, all the way down to the hotel in Gloucester.
